Step back in time and get ready for Ibiza's medieval festival 2025 🏰🦅

Written on 05/05/2025

Every May, the kids are all excited and gallop around the house with their foam swords or trusty stick horses 🐴⚔️, already in full knight mode before we've even left the driveway. Then we head straight up to Dalt Vila for what is — hands down — one of the most family friendly annual island events: the Eivissa Medieval Fair. Yes, it’s that time again, when Ibiza’s old town transforms into a magical swirl of knights, dragons 🐉, jesters, and falcons. And trust me, this is not just some touristy sideshow with a plastic sword or two. It’s four days of full-on, time-traveling, giggle-inducing, snack-sampling, puppet-watching mayhem — and you'll love every second of it.

This year’s fair runs from 8 to 11 May 2025, and if you’ve never taken your kids, this is the year to do it. The whole thing kicks off with a grand opening show called “Pirates, Corsairs and Other Daredevils” 🏴‍☠️ (basically a historical version of Jack Sparrow meets Ibiza style), and from then on, it’s non-stop action. I mean, where else can you see actual jousting on horseback 🐎, watch a falcon fly over your head, AND eat a medieval donut the size of your face?

We usually start at Passeig de Vara de Rey, where the littles get hypnotized by the puppet shows (this year Ernesto the Dragon is back — yay!) 🐲, next to this square on Plaça del parque we continue to the fun attractions - while we parents sneak in some local artisan shopping or… let’s be honest… mulled wine 🍷. The medieval market is full of stalls that smell like cinnamon, woodsmoke, and roasted almonds — and half the fun is pretending you're shopping for a royal banquet instead of just grabbing your fifth empanada.

And let’s talk workshops ✂️👑. There are loads of crafty activities led by the amazing Sueños de Ibiza team. From sword-making to crown-decorating, it’s perfect for kids (and very convenient for parents who’d like to sip something fizzy in the sun while pretending to be supervising). Bonus: the entertainment runs from morning till almost midnight 🌙, so there’s always something to distract from the “I’m booooored” soundtrack we all know too well.

By nightfall, Dalt Vila turns into a glowing fairytale ✨ — fire shows, live music, glowing torches, and those dramatic stone walls that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a Game of Thrones episode (without the stress). We usually stay for the evening parades and theatre shows — and yes, there’s even a cat called Natalio making a theatrical appearance this year 🐱. Medieval, but make it meow.

So pack your comfiest sandals, prep for a sugar rush 🍭, and prepare to be thoroughly entertained. The Eivissa Medieval Fair 2025 is free, fabulous, and full of joy — whether you’re 6, 36, or just young at heart 💖.

See you in the Kingdom of Dalt Vila — we’ll be the ones cheering the loudest at the jousting match and eating churros like nobility! 🤴👸
