Ibiza with kids: the honest guide

When to visit with kids

May, June, September and October are the absolute sweet spot — warm sea, calmer beaches, fewer crowds and reasonable prices. Easter and October half-term are excellent for short breaks. Many locals say winter is Ibiza's hidden gem season: mild sunshine, deserted beaches and family events without the summer chaos.

Best family beaches

Cala Vadella, Cala Tarida, Cala Llonga and Es Figueral all have shallow water, sand (not pebbles), and nearby beach restaurants with kids' menus.

Getting around the island

You'll want a rental car with car seats — book well ahead in summer. The Ibiza–Formentera ferry takes 30 minutes and is part of the adventure. For hidden coves with a short walk from parking, a baby carrier beats a stroller.

Rainy day plans

Head to Dalt Vila Eivissa (the UNESCO medieval town), the Archaeological or Contemporary Art Museum, indoor play centres in Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia, or the small bowling and arcade spot most people don't know about.

Eating out with kids

Spanish meal times take getting used to: lunch from 2-3pm, dinner from 9pm onwards. Many beach restaurants stay open all day. Kids are welcome almost everywhere — Spain is a child-loving culture.

Babysitters on holiday

The Babysitter Finder shows English-, Spanish-, German-, French- and other multilingual-speaking sitters. We're not an agency — no extra commission or fees. ID-verified sitters with parent reviews, contacted directly.
