FARMS FEATURED: CAN MUSON - ES CURRALS, ALPACA FARM - TERRA MASIA FARM - JUNTOS IBIZA

Well, if this title has you dreaming of exotic vibes and species, hold onto your flip-flops! Ibiza isn’t exactly a wildlife wonderland. Sure, you might bump into the island’s famous lizard, the unofficial mascot of our sunny paradise. Some might debate it’s the gecko that wins, but let’s both of these little cuties are scurrying all over! We do have one more very special creature called the "Gineta", a cat like animal that only lives at night. It's nocturnal behavior and need to live solo and secretively makes it a truly remarkable moment if you see one alive. Since this barely happens, make sure to take a photo. The forest conservatives of the government would love to be informed of any sighting.  Unfortunately, the northern part of the island has seen a bit of a snake invasion—thanks to some runaway pets who decided to throw a wild party and multiply like crazy! And with no natural enemy they are starting to become a threat by eating all of our lizards. Then again, this story is not meant to scare you! So let’s talk about the adorable critters you can meet instead! Ibiza’s farming roots still shine with charming goats, sheep, donkeys, and rabbits bouncing around. Where can you take the kiddos for some fun, eco - or furry learning? Let the countryside adventure begin...

Es Currals, Alpaca Farm Ibiza

As a local resident, I was thrilled to discover Es Currals, Ibiza's first alpaca farm near Sant Carlos. Owned by a friendly Belgian couple, this delightful farm offers an unforgettable experience for families and animal lovers alike. During your visit, you might get to feed the alpacas and even you can see a traditional weaving machine in action, transforming their incredibly soft wool into beautiful homemade products. It's a unique, educational adventure that highlights the charm and tranquility of rural Ibiza. With this place bookings in advance are obligatory, because they take the care of the alpaca’s very seriously and they take pride into making sure the animals do not get too many human interactions per day.
