As Ibiza mom, I know how important it is to keep kids engaged with outdoor activities. And even better if that activity is fun for us too! Nobody needs a bored non-creative "tablet child", when there is so much outdoor-fun around. When they become older and you notice that they’re up for more adventure and exploration this is the post to read. I’ve found some of the best ways to enjoy the island together as a family, lovely ways to look at Ibiza —whether from sea, land, or even in the sky.
Here are some of our favorite outdoor adventures that I highly recommend trying out with your family:
1. Kayak and Snorkel Adventure
For families who love the water, the Kayak and Snorkel Tour at Cala Codolar is such a fun way to spend a couple of hours together. We did this last summer, and our child loved spotting fish while snorkeling and paddling the kayak. The tour takes you along hidden coves and caves, making it feel like a real adventure!
-
What’s included: Kayaks, life jackets, snorkeling gear, and a guide to show you the best spots.
-
Perfect for: Water-loving kids who are comfortable paddling and swimming.
-
Price: €40 for kids, €50 for adults (https://funkayaksibiza.com/)
-
Budget version: In the North you can rent Kayaks for €15 per hour at Playa Es Figueral. The owners of the watersports club will give you a choice of trial maps, so you can be your own tourguide. Loved it!

2. Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Trip
For a more chill but equally fun day on the water, the SUP trip is a hit for kids age 10 and up. Our daughter enjoyed learning how to balance and paddle while exploring secret caves and quiet beaches. It’s a slower-paced activity but still full of excitement as you get to places you wouldn’t otherwise see.
-
What’s included: Paddleboards, paddles, and a quick beginner training session.
-
Perfect for: Families looking for a relaxing yet active way to see Ibiza from the water.
-
Price: €52.48 per person from 10 years and older, below 10 years kids can go for free on their parents boards. @https://supibiza.net/salidas/
-
Budget option: Rent a see-through SUP at Ibiza Crystal Sup and do it on your own! For just €30 you get all the normal gear for a full day, the crystal ones go by the hour for the same price. @https://ibizacrystalsup.com/
3. Ibiza Town Bike Tour
Sometimes, exploring on land is just as rewarding... The Ibiza Town Bike Tour might be something you think is purely a super touristy thing, but it is actually a lovely active way to look at the historic side of the island, especially for kids who are curious about the world around them. You’ll cycle through beautiful parks (feed the ducks at Parc de la Pau) and visit spots like the Necropolis and authentic parts of the old city center.
-
What’s included: Bikes, helmets, and a local guide who knows all the fun facts.
-
Perfect for: Families who love a bit of culture with their exercise.
-
Price: €39 per person
4. Hot Air Balloon Excursion
Finally, if you’re looking for something truly magical, the Hot Air Balloon Excursion is a must-try. We haven’t done this yet, but I know it’s at the top of many lists. Imagine floating over Ibiza’s stunning landscapes as the sun rises—what a way to start the day. It’s such a unique way to see the island from a whole new perspective or to celebrate a special occassion.
-
What’s included: A 45 to 60 minute balloon ride, champagne & toasts for the adults, and a cool certificate for the kids.
-
Perfect for: Families looking for an unforgettable experience in the air.
-
